The Swiss Sustainability Forum eco.ch awarded the Swiss Sustainability Prizes on March 31, 2017 at the Theater Basel in front of around 500 visitors. The Swiss Sustainability Award prix eco.ch 2017 in the main prize category went to the Gravit'eau project of Eawag and the School of Life Sciences FHNW for their outstanding commitment to sustainable water treatment. Also convincing was the AquAero project with their technology that extracts water from the air in an energy-efficient way, which received the audience award. A special prize went to Viva con Agua Switzerland. Water ambassador and expedition swimmer Ernst Bromeis is this year's winner in the "Hopefuls" category.
